Mitchell Hashimoto is an infrastructure engineer, systems programmer, and open-source creator.

He is the co-founder of HashiCorp, where he created and architected foundational tools that define modern cloud computing and DevOps, including Vagrant, Packer, Terraform, Consul, Vault, Nomad, and Waypoint. He served as HashiCorp’s CEO, CTO, and individual contributor before departing the company in 2023.

After HashiCorp, he co-founded Superlogical and created Ghostty, a fast, feature-rich, GPU-accelerated terminal emulator built in Zig alongside the libghostty core library. On his website mitchellh.com, he shares in-depth technical writings on terminal architecture, systems programming, and software craft.
