George Hotz (geohot) is an American software architect, hacker, and entrepreneur renowned for his relentless first-principles approach to hardware, software, and artificial intelligence.

He first gained worldwide fame as a teenager in 2007 by becoming the first person to carrier-unlock the original iPhone, followed by reverse-engineering the PlayStation 3. He later founded comma.ai, where he developed openpilot—the most widely used open-source driver-assistance and autonomous driving system. More recently, he founded the tiny corp, creating tinygrad—a minimalist, high-performance deep learning framework built from pure first principles—and the open AI hardware compute platform tinybox.
